The Synthesis of Optically Active Amino Acid over Pd Catalysts Impregnated on Mesoporous Support

Pd metals immobilized on SBA-15 and NaY were applied as catalysts in the synthesis of amino acid. These catalysts afford a high level of enantioselectivity in the asymmetric hydrogenation of α-keto acids to corresponding amino acids. Indeed, this reaction has been investigated and reported only using Pd metals immobilized on active carbons.
