인사동 가로에서 보여 지는 건축적 스펙타클에 관한 연구

초록

This study intends to explore the spectacles inherent in the streets of modern cities, to analyze In Sa Dong street in particular, and to examine the process through which architecture is amalgamated into the urban spectacles while at the same time investigating the relationship among the society, city, and architecture. And finally the study attempts to seek for the method by which architecture is returned to the independent reality that participates in the modern cities instead of architectural spectacles fused in the urban scenery. 고전 경제학의 관점에 따르면 모든 생산의 목표는 소비이고, 개인은 끊임없이 팽창하는 광범위한 상품범위내에서 구매를 통해 욕구충족을 최대화하는 존재이다. 따라서 상품은 실재를 넘어서는 기호의 이미지로 전환되고 대중은 이미지를 소비하게 된다. 이렇듯이 ‘실재’를 한낱 스펙타클로 치환하는 자본의 힘은 단지 상품에 머물지 않고 사회 문화의 모든 분야에 영향을 미친다. 건축분야도 예외는 아니다. 건축은 재화나 미술과 달리, 표면들이 빚어 내는 이미지가 아니라 강력한 현존의 대상이었다.. 그러나 여타의 분야보다 자본에 귀속되는 성질이 더 강한 예술분야인 건축도 자본주의 사회에서 스펙타클이 되는 것은 피하기 힘든 현상이 빚어졌다. 나아가 현실의 건축은 스펙타클화하는 차원을 넘어, 스펙타클에 흡수되어, 그것들의 연출에 봉사하면서 분야 자체가 포기되는 상황이 빚어지기도 한다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 건축이 스펙타클로 용해되는 과정을 밝히고 그 틈을 발견하여 건축이 실재로 회복되는 방안을 모색하고자 한다.
