Microstructure and magnetic property of yttrium-iron-garnet thick films.

YIG(yttrium iron garnet) thick films were fabricated on the YSZ(yttrium stabilized zirconia) substrate by screen printing which have been wellknown for microwave materials on applications as devices. In terms of high performance of YIG thick films, we have studied the microstructure and the magnetic properties of saturation magnetization (4πMs) and ferromagnetic resonance line width(ΔH). From the result of TEM analysis, small amount of Zr4+ was detected in a grain of YIG thick films due to the diffusion from the substrate.
