초록

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) is a predominantly pediatric, myofibroblastic proliferative lesion composed of myofibroblastic spindle cells accompanited by an inflammatory infiltrate of plasma cells, lymphocytes, and eosinophils. Most patients are infacts and children under the age of 14 years but a few toung adults. There is a slight female predominance. The etiology is unknown. The most common sites are the lung, mesentery, and omentum. Other site include soft tissue, mediastinum, gastointestinal tract, pancreas, genitourinary tract, oral cavity, skin, breast, nerve, bone, and central nervous system. Although its histopathologic nature is benign, some cases have a malignant clinical course. IMT of stomach is a very rare tumor during childhood. We report a case of IMT which developed in the lower body along the lesser curvature of stomach of a 15-year-old male.
