We explore new regimes in tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERS) and near-field scanning optical microscopy (NSOM), revealing the fundamental nature of single-molecule dynamics at low temperature and nanoscale spatial heterogeneity of biomolecules on the cell membranes in liquid.
