Radiation Pattern from a Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antenna on a Uniaxial Anisotropic Subtrate Loaded by Superstrate

Abstract - In this work, the radiation from a rectangular microstrip patch antenna on a uniaxial anisotropic substrate loaded by superstrate is treated. To analyze this structure, special constitutive relations are used in describing the uniaxial properties of material, as the Dyadic Green's Func- tion can be formulated. Electromagnetic fields and boundary conditions in spectral region were used in finding Green's function. Using stationary phase evaluation in solving the integral equation and transforming rectangular coordinates to spherical coordinates, the radiation equation of the an- tenna is obtained. Numerical results indicate radiation pa- ttern and its direction.
