Isomorphous incorporation of transition metal ions (TM) in the framework of porous materials such as zeolites and aluminophoshate (AIPO-n) molecular sieves has attracted considerable attention1,2 because metal-incorporated molecular sieves contain atomically dispersed metal species to impart novel catalysic and adsorptive properties. However, for metal-incorporated AIPO molecular sieves (MeAPO-n), it has been difficult to verify the metal incorporation into the framework by typical characterization methods and it is still debated whether the substitution site for TM is Al or P in MeAPO-n In this work, we report isomorphous substitution of various TMs in the frameswork of nanoporous VSB molecular sieves, comfirmed by the change of UC dimensions and chemical and spectrocopic sieves, confirmed by the change of UC dimensions and chemical and spectrocopic analysis.3 We have also investigated the preferred coordination geometries of the TMs to be substituted in VSB molecular sieves. This work was supported by the Korean Ministry of Science and Technology through the Research Center for Nanocatalysis.
