Linear actuators are mechanical devices employed as basic systems in equipment used in machinery, semiconductors, automation and inspection activities, automobiles, and transport robots. They are equipped with a ball screw and motor, and the core design element is the rolling element of the ball contact part. The ball or roller in the block is used to efficiently create an infinite circulating motion, which in turn creates a linear reciprocating motion that supports the block. Moreover, computational analysis is required for optimal design; however, the modeling process for the analysis and calculation of the required stiffness is difficult. Therefore, an efficient analysis method that uses the effective equivalent stiffness calculation method is presented in this research study, and its validity is verified through a comparison of the analysis results with those obtained by the Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL).
