초록

With the arrival of post-industrial ages in the late 20th century, the cities grew and expanded imprudently. So the industrial facilities which were pushed to the border area were incorporated into the city. Therefore, these ruined empty industrial facilities became a part of daily life and embraced the border of the city. The Gu Ui intake pump station located at the Han river side in Seoul is also in the such situation; that is an ambiguous part of the city. Recently the waterfront area of Han river was vitalized due to the demands of urban life. In addition, the regeneration of such border space is tried actively. In this respect, the study is to propose how the pump station can be the space for daily life. For this, the urban social problems of the site will be pointed out, then, it is attempted to find a way of regeneration through the experimental design based on “Defamiliarization.” Keywords: regeneration; daily life; Defamiliarization; Deleuze’ “becoming”
