The main purpose of this study is to develop micro-machining technologies for LGP(light guide panel) mould, which can form micro-dot patterns on LGP in a single injection process. To make micro-dot patterns on the LGP mould, powder blasting technique is introduced, which is expected to replace existing screen printing process. A s preceding process, optimum masking conditions(laminating, exposure and developing) for circular and square dot, are investigated based on a series of experiments. LGP mould samples with micro-circular and square patterns are machined using introduced powder blasting method, and machinabilities are investigated to determine optimum machining conditions. Then, a prototype of LGP with micro-dor pattern is injected using developed mould, and dimensional analyses of formed micro-patterns are performed. From the results of this study, it can be verified that micro-dot patterns on LGP can be formed in a single injection process using developed mould. Thus, it can be verified that the introduced powder blasting process can be successfully applied to micro-machining of injection mould with micro-dot patterns fro LGP.
