초록

The paper investigates the dependency of the identification results of structural and sub-structural systems on the definition of boundary conditions. The study is related to the effects of model selection on the identification. The case for structural systems has been studied with exterior boundaries of laboratory test specimens where the size of ideal boundary accessories may be often relatively large compared with that of the specimen. The case for sub-structural systems has been studied with interior boundaries between a sub-structure to be identified and the other part of the structure out of interest. The boundaries are modeled by axial and rotational spring elements, which can be replaced by a frame element with axial and flexural stiffnesses. The boundary parameters are estimated in addition to unknown structural parameters of the main structure. Numerical simulation studies and applications on laboratory specimen and an actual bridge structure have been carried out to investigate the effects of identifying boundary conditions on the overall identification results.
