Numerical Simulation of Asymmetric Vortices on Ogive-Cylinder at High Angle of Attack Using ILES

In this study, we present an implicit large eddy simulation (ILES) of flow over an axisymmetric body at a high angle of attack, α = 50?. The free-stream conditions were set at Mach number M = 0.1 and Reynolds number based on the diameter ReD = 2.0 × 105. To investigate the unexpected side force resulting from asymmetric flow structures, the roll angle was varied in increments of 30?. The results revealed three stable modes of side forces, consistent with experimental findings. Detailed analyses of the flow structures corresponding to these three modes were conducted
