A Simple UEP Scheme of Turbo TCM in Image Transmission over Flat Rayleigh Fading Channels

In this paper, we present a novel type of hierarchical channel coding and transmission scheme for image transmission, which make use of the iteration process of the powerful Turbo TCM. This type of scheme exploits the characteristics that the data of the source have unequal importance and unequal sensitivity to the interference from noisy channels. We show, by experiments and analyzing, that this type of scheme has good power-efficient performance and unequal error protection (UEP) performance.
