Study on Interior Ballistic Performance Optimization with Propellant Configuration

초록

Interior ballistics performaㅜce factors, the muzzle velocity and the maximum chamber pressure tend to be proportional to each other. To improve the performance of the artillery the muzzle velocity should be increased but the maximum pressure also increases, the optimal design is needed. In this study, the maximum chamber pressure is limited and searches for the configuration variables for 10 shapes that could maximize the muzzle velocity. The performance of the gun is obtained by one-dimensional interior ballistic computational analysis, a genetic algorithm is used for geometry optimization. The configuration of each propellant is designed through the optimal design, and the performance was compared.
