쥐 시상-대뇌 절편에서 간질파형의 발생학적 연구
초록
Introduction of in vitro brain slices. The in vitro brain slice provides a neuronal network with well defined synaptic connections. The environment of the slice is also easily modified, and all the neurotransmitter systems are subject to pharmacological manipulation. This presentation first describes physiological and pharmacological studies on epileptiform activity generated in a preparation which preserves the basic synaptic connections between somatosensory thalamus and cortex in vitro. Epileptiform activity in brain slices. Epileptiform activity began to appear in both cortical and thalamic area in the thalamocortical slices within 20-40 min after perfusion with ACSF containing no added Mg2+. Though epileptiform activities varied in duration, interval, and amplitude, two major forms could be classified. The first type had monotonic bursting activity following the triggering paroxysmal depolarizing shift(PDS), of which frequency and duration similar to EEG recordings of generalized absence or generalized tonic seizure. The second type of epileptiform activity was more similar to EEG recordings during generalized tonic-clonic seizure(GTC), which consisted of tonic burst firing period and a later phase of periodic clonic burst firing.
