Mini pigs for Gastritis animal model: Gastric ulcer

Recently, gastritis disease including gastric ulcer is founded many humans. And necessity of gastritis animal model is more important. So we are going to make a gastritis animal model focused on gastric ulcer. Gastric ulcer occurs many causes. The most well-known causes is Helicobacter pylori. In addition to smoking, stresses, acid and irregular lifestyle are causes, too. In this experiment, we focused on acid. Mini pig’s organ is similar to human’s organ compared to other animals. So more efficiently to study efficacy test for human disease. Also we use endoscope, we can see the organ instead of autopsy. And we can repeat research one animal. We use two mini pigs for experiment. One is only injected acetic acid and the other is injected acetic acid and medicine. We use endoscope when we inject the acetic acid in the gastric. And we use oral administration to inject medicine. We inject acetic acid one times. But we inject medicine everyday during two weeks. We can see all process to endoscope. After two weeks later, we autopsy mini pig. And we see the gastric by gastrectomy. After injection, we can find gastric swelling when we inject acetic acid. And mucosa’s color is changed white. After one week later, we can find small gastric ulcer. And we can see the necrosis and inflammation to mucosa. After two weeks later, we can find gastric ulcer bigger than second. And we can see the severe necrosis and inflammation to mucosa. Mini pig which injected medicine symptom is weaker than mini pig which not injected medicine.
