초록

Colanthura pigmentata Kensley, 1980 has been reported in Madagascar. The genus Colanthura Richardson, 1902 is characterized by the several characteristics: (1) lacking of pereopod 7; (2) the mandible without palp; (3) maxillipedal palp composed only one article or have tiny second article; (4) statocysts absent; (5) propodus of pereopod 1 is well - developed and has a row of strong spines on its mesial surface. We provide detail descriptions of the diagnostic characteristics, illustrations of the C pigmentata and its sexual dimorphism. Additionally, we also provide the partial sequence of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 (COl) . gene as a molecular characteristic. As a result of this study, first species of the genus Colanthura is now recorded in the South Korea.
