초록

Aluminum alloy sheet, specifically Al 2024-T3 alloy, is one of the key materials used in the construction of structural components for transportation devices, based on its mechanical properties such as strength and fatigue resistance. In this study, to understand the mechanical characteristics of Al 2024-T3 alloy used in the design and fabrication of transportation device structures, the following investigations were conducted: (i) fatigue tests were performed on specimens of varying thicknesses of Al 2024-T3 alloy under the same stress ratio and constant amplitude loading conditions. The results of the fatigue tests were analyzed to determine the fatigue failure characteristics of Al 2024-T3 alloy for each thickness. (ii) To investigate the fatigue failure characteristics for different thicknesses of Al 2024-T3 alloy, a curve was constructed using the range of stress intensity factor amplification (RoSIF) and the fatigue crack growth rate (FCGR) . From this, the material constants and related to fatigue failure for each thickness were determined. The material constants and obtained in this study are applied in the evaluation of fatigue behavior and fatigue life prediction of Al 2024-T3 alloy under cyclic loading, which is a type of dynamic loading.
