초록

There have been many researches to investigate the relationship between the damage location, the damage size and the corresponding changes in the eigenparameters. The sizable damages such as the saw cut, delamination, and notch are considered in most analytical studies and experiments. In this paper, the equations of motion for the beams with small local damages are derived. The modal analysis approach is used to formulate the damage detection algorithms in which the experimentally measured frequency response functions are utilized. The minimum number of vibration modes that should be taken into account to obtain reliable damage information is evaluated.
