Reliable Image-Text Fusion CAPTCHA with Scattered Individual Character Hints

Image-text fusion CAPTCHA was proposed to improve user-friendliness and efficiency of image-based CAPTCHA. However, this scheme also may have some weakness in terms of security. To address this limitation, we propose more robust image-text fusion CAPTCHA in which each character of text hint is scattered randomly in the related CAPTCHA image. From the assessment of the proposed scheme’s security strength by comparing the possibility of hacking with that of the previous image-text fusion CAPTCHA, the proposed scheme has lower probability of hacking than the previous one. Also according to the experimental results, the user-friendliness and efficiency of the proposed scheme are similar to those of the previous one.
