MODIFIED AIR TEXTURISING PROCESS FOR HYBRIDIZATION OF DIFFERENT REINFORCEMENT FILAMENT YARNS

초록

The possibility of hybridization is briefly investigated for the matrices of Carbon/Aramid, Carbon/Glass and Aramid/Glass through the commingling process. For this research, a commercially available air texturerising machine was modified and used for experiments under different process conditions such as pressure, yarn oversupply rate and nozzle types. The main stream of this study is focused on the applicability of the proposed process and the results are discussed in terms of optical analysis of hybrid yarns and yarn count analysis.
