A study on the revitalization of sense of place through rebuilding historical place

The study, in the aspect of permanence in the city, intends to explore the importance of the architectural representation of historical places. Avoiding direct reenactment historical sites through architectural intervention, the study investigates the ways how to preserve the historical value of particular places where the past and the presence coexists. The study attempts to apply the idea of territorialization to consider such a hybrid city as Seoul, to give body to the notion of permanence in representation of historical places surrounding Deoksu Palace in the city, to explore the way how to rehabilitate the significance of the places that are able to maintain the permanence of the city.
