In these years much interest has been shown in the ring opening reaction of epoxides to give fluorohydrins as a method for the introduction of fluorine into organic molecules.Treatment of 4-chlorophenyl glycidyl ether derivatives of aliphatic epoxides with metal fluoride in ionic liquids gave mixture of fluorohydrins and their oligomers
