초록
This paper describes CMT (Conceptual Metaphor Theory) and CBT (Conceptual Blending Theory), showing that the poetic language found in literature has a place in cognitive linguistic study. These cognitive linguistics show that metaphor is a way of experiencing and understanding unfamiliar concepts via familiar ones. Great poets can speak to us because they use the mode of thought we all possess. In this paper, I pose an ordinary question aboutf the theory of metaphor, specifically CMT and CBT, and more broadly within the mechanism of metaphor, I review the cognitive linguistic metaphoric system of Robert Frost's poetry, “Hyla Brook.” Literature education that considers consilience can be educationally efficient by extending new prospect of thoughts through combinations of thinking based on literary works, and by achieving integrated learning within various fields of study.
