Description of a new species of Pectinaria Savigny in Lamarck, 1818 (Pectinariidae, Annelida) from the western coast of Korea

The genus Pectinaria Savigny in Lamarck, 1818 (Pectinariidae: Polychaeta: Annelida) is reported for the first time from Korean waters. Previous records for pectinariids are restricted to the genera Lagis Malmgren (1866), Amphictene Savigny (1818), and Cistenides Malmgren (1866). In this paper we describe a new species, Pectinaria jugyoensis sp. nov., collected from the tidal sandy mud flat, which is closely similar to P. hiuchiensis, but can be distinguished by (1) smaller number (about 20) of longer cirri on the rim of cephalic veil; (2) glandular area at segments 4 with conical protrusions, (3) glandular area at segments 6 without a central break, (4) papillae present at rim of 3 anal lobes (middle and 2 lateral ones).
