초록

Solid waste-derived carbon nanomaterials are promising candidates for sustainable energy storage applications, particularly in supercapacitors (SCs). This review provides a comprehensive overview of the methodologies, outcomes, and challenges documented in recent scientific inquiries. The objectives of this review are to consolidate the current research findings, critically evaluate the progress and challenges, and outline future directions for research and applications in this exciting area. This review focuses on the challenges associated with the production of SCs derived from waste materials, such as pyrolysis and hydrothermal carbonization, and discusses the current challenges and opportunities in the development of SC electrode materials. © 2025 American Chemical Society
