An analytical and experimental study on the springback for three point bending

<p align="justify">This study is concerned with the analysis of springback for three-point bending by extending the pure bending theory. The neutral axis is assumed to remain at the mid-thickness due to the large ratio of radius of curvature to the thickness. The bending moments are replaced by approximate pure bending moments of numerous elements based on the boundary conditions that elements have the same deflection and slope at connecting points. The total deflection is calculated by summing up the deflection of each element. The springback is then determined by the relationship between initial and final deflections. Experiments illustrate that the analytical solutions give favorable results.<p align="justify">
