초록
Optical coatings have been used to change the optical properties, such as reflectance, transmittance, absorptance, and polarization, of surfaces in the optical instruments and various optical fields. Applications of optical coatings are ranging from simple antireflection coatings, high reflectance coatings, edge filters to narrow band-pass filters. Recently there haven been some developments in design, deposition, and chracterization of optical coatings as the optical and photonic technologies have been proceeded rapidly. In this paper a basic theory of designing optical thin films will be reviewed briefly. As applications the antireflection and antistatic coatings, display coatings, low-emissivity filters, rugate filters, omnidirectional reflectors and WDM filters will be also reviewed.
