초록

Microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) has received a widespread attention toward lightweight and environmentally friendly polymer composites. For scalable production of polymer-MCC composites, we manufactured nylon66-MCC composites through an extrusion process followed by an injection molding process. Herein, nylon66 is employed as a polymer matrix for mechanical reinforcement of the composites via intermolecular hydrogen bonding between the amide bonds of nylon66 and the hydroxyl groups of MCC. Furthermore, we report structure-property relationships of nylon66-MCC composites with an emphasis on crystallinity of nylon66 characterized by a wide angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD) and a differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). We will also discuss the influence of the intramolecular hydrogen bonds on crystalline structure and mechanical properties of the composites.
