A Novel Optimized Design of a Directional Coupler

초록

The coupling length of a directional coupler varies as the waveguide width changes with fixed center distance. Systematic variation of the width revealed interesting behavior of coupling length saturations. The condition of a waveguide width with maximum coupling length is shown to provide optimum power transition and maximum fabrication tolerance.
