초록
This presentation examines the development and evolution of trust in relational cultures using indigenous psychological analysis. Trust evolves from close interpersonal relationship and expands to a wider circle of relationship. A review of series of qualitative, cross-sectional, and longitudinal studies conducted in Korea indicates the strong relational and emotional basis of trust. People are trust not because of their ability, rationality, or personality, but because of sacrifice, sincerity, and fulfillment of their roles. Rather than the pursuit of self-interest and maximal gain, the results indicate maintenance of harmonious and lasting relationship is the basis of trust in Korea.
