초록
It has been well recognized that the finite element method(FEM) requires sufficiently large number of finite elements to provide satisfactory dynamic responses of a structure, especially at high vibration modes. To meet the accuracy requirement at high vibration modes, the spectral element method(SEM) can be considered. Unfortunately the conventional SEM can be applied only to the structures which are subject to the concentrated loads. Thus, in this paper, an extended SEM is introduced to deal with the structures subject to dynamic distributed loads. By using this new SEM algorithm, the numerical results are compared with the result by the FEM and the analytical solutions. It is found that the present extended SEM provides almost identical results to the analytical solutions while the FEM doesn't.
