Vascular shutdown caused by As2O3 enhances the response of tumors to radiotherapy and hyperthermia
초록
Experiments were carried out tp reveal whether the vascular shutdown carsed by anti-leukemia agent As2O3(ATO) can bo exploited to enhance the respinse of tumors to radiotherapy or hyperthermia. ATO, an effective anti- leukemia agent, causes a dramatic vascular shutdown followed by central in experimental tumors. Such a vascular shutdown markedly increases the respinse of tumors to hyperthermin by improving tumor heating. ATO appeared to improve oxygen supply to tumor cells, which survive the ATO treatment, thereby increasing the response of the tumor cells to subsequent irradiation.
