초록

ZnS nanowires were synthesized by thermal evaporation. The morphology, crystal structure, and sensing properties of the ZnS nanowires to H2S gas at room temperature under UV illumination were examined. Pt nanoparticles with diameters of a few tens of nanometers were distributed over the ZnS nanowires. The responses of the multiple networked nanowire gas sensors were improved 2-5 fold by Pt functionalization at H2S concentrations ranging from 20 to 100 ppm. Furthermore, the Pt-functionalized ZnS nanowire gas sensors showed a considerably enhanced response at room temperature under ultraviolet (UV) illumination. In addition, the mechanisms by which the gas sensing properties of ZnS nanowires are enhanced by Pt functionalization and UV irradiation are discussed
