Objective : Although debatable, there have been many reports that ureaplasma plays an important role in pathogenesis of pelvic inflammatory disease. Because this microorganism can be sexually transmitted, both sopuses should be simultaneously treated. So we assessed clinical manifetation of the infection by ureaplasma urelyticum in spouses with routine diagnostic methods including microgiologic tests and a novel Tc-99m ciprofloxacin imging. Methods: We conducted routine diagnostic methods and Tc-99m Ciprofloxacin SPECT for 20 pairs of ureaplasma urealyticum patients. Microbiologic test was Mycostat and the imaging test was Tc-99m ciprofloxacin SPECT, which was performed 3 hours agter an injection of 2mg of Tc-99m ciprofloxacin Results: Among 20 pairs of the spouses 9 pairs(45%) had infection with the ureaplasma and 19 pairs(95%) had positive findings in the Tc-99m Ciprofloxacin SPECT. Conclusion: The spouses of the patients with ureaplasma urealyticum should be diagnosed and treated, and the Tc-
