현대도시에서의 랜드 마크의 의미 변화에 대한 연구

초록

It is harsh urban modernization and complexity that makes the function and the role of landmark change in today's city space. In general, so-called landmarks have been recognized by people with either their alien conditions or peculiar forms against existing urban context. Today, however, meta-contextual edifices that internalize all sorts of complex elements related to urban context are to be better recognized as symbols of landmarks. The study attempts to examine any strategies how architecture symbolizes the immediate context and how it can be recognized by people, to investigate the historical aspects of contextualism, and to explore the applicability of architectural interiority or immanence to landmarks. The major argument is focused on the origin in the landmarks' symbolizing the immediate context and their being sublimed into the urban signs.
