평행광 시준용 구면렌즈의 광학면 구성에 따른 Beam Quality 비교

초록

It is important to design the optic system carefully for the precision collimation of Laser diode(LD) and LD-bar system, as the typical angle error of collimated beam from the conventional Fast Axis Collimation(FAC) lens is considerably large due to the significant aberration from typical bisecting cylinder structure. The simulated results of collimation performance of three types of lens surface configurations of same focal length are analyzed and compared in order to optimize the configurations. Three configurations are ‘Symmetric’(Sym) type, ‘Asymmetric-D’(AD) type, and ‘Asymmetric-C’(AC) type, the reverse structure of AD type. It was after all confirmed that the AD type configuration is the best in that the error in collimated beam angle is the smallest and the alignment tolerance is the largest. It reveals that spreading refraction power as equal as possible is quite helpful in the configuration design of optical surfaces.
