Highly Compressible Cake Filtration : Application to the Cake Filtration of Flocculated Particles

초록

A new method named "filtration-permeability" is proposed for floc filtration to deternind average specific resistance. This method is especially useful to measure cake thickness which is formed by floc filtration, otherwise this cake thickness is very difficult to determine. The experimental results of compression permeability cell, filtration and porosity profile for the clay polymer flocs are presented. Based on these experimental results new boundary conditions are proposed in the comressible cake filtrations. The existence of dense skin in very compressible cakes is proved experimentally. An expression theory developed by the conception of new boundary condition on floc filtration is proposed. the constants obtained by using C.P.C. and filtration cell enable to predict the velocity of expression. Experimental results are presented to support this theory.
