Analysis of Frost-heave on the Railroad Track by Soil Sampling

Frost action may cause extensive damage to infra structure such as roads, railroads, utility lines and other civil engineering structures. In order to investigate the frost heave of railroad track, soil samples from fore different areas where frost heave happened were taken. Soil properties and variations of the thermal conductivities with unit weight, water contents were investigated.
