초록
We propose a new wideband polarizer formed on silicon waveguide with a grating structure transmitting transverse-magnetic (TM) mode only and radiating out transverse-electric (TE) mode. From numerical simulation with three-dimensional finite-difference time-domain (3D FDTD) method, a designed TM-pass polarizer can have a size of 0.45ⅹ6.3 μm2 and its polarization extinction ratio can be greater than 20 dB over a broad wavelength band of > 200 nm.
