Analysis Method of Store Separation Trajectory in Open Cavity Using Monte Carlo Simulation

In this paper, an engineering method for predicting the trajectories of stores separated from an open cavity is proposed. Grid survey method that has been used to predict the trajectories of external stores cannot be applied to predict the trajectories of the stores released from an internal bomb bay due to its deterministic characteristics. The proposed method is based on the grid survey method and Correlated Monte Carlo simulation to mimic the indeterministic behavior of the stores during release. URANS simulation is conducted to calculate the time averages, the standard deviations and the autocorrelation matrix of the aerodynamic coefficients to build a grid database. To demonstrate the applicability of the proposed method, the trajectories of a MK-82 from WICS cavity are predicted by comparing the trajectories with those of the time accurate URANS simulation.
