EXERCISE INTERVENTION FAILED TO ATTENUATE COGNITIVE DYSFUNCTION IN AGED 3XTG-AD MOUSE MODEL OF ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE
초록
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder that causes cognitive impairments. Hippocampus plays a critical role in cognitive function including learning, short- and long-term memory, and spatial memory. Whereas exercise intervention has been shown to mitigate cognitive impairments in early-stage AD, it is unknown that this neuroprotective effect of exercise is still maintained in late-stage AD. The purpose of the study was to investigate whether exercise intervention mitigates cognitive dysfunction in super-aged triple-transgenic (3xTg)-AD mice; and whether mitochondrial function in hippocampus is associated with the changes in congnitive function
