Metabolic effects of early and late exercise in obese diabetic OLETF rats

Aerobic exercise is a key component for the treatment of obese type 2 diabetes mellitus. Interestingly, previous studies showed that although short term exercise training increased insulin signaling in young men, these changes did not occur in middle-aged men. In this study, the differential effect of aerobic exercise done at different age points on metabolic parameters was evluated using an obese diabetic animal model.
