Nonlinear System Identification for Shear Buildings

초록

The study develops a nonlinear time-domain system identification algorithm for structural damage assessment using acceleration data measured at limited locations. The developed algorithm evaluates a structural system by estimating the variations of stiffness and damping parameters. To consider nonlinear characteristics of structural behavior, an output error between measured and computed acceleration increments has been utilized in formulating a constrained nonlinear optimization problem. To examine the developed algorithm, a laboratory test data on a three-story shear building have been applied.
