In recent years, ZnO nanostructures have been studied due to its direct bandgap (3.37 eV) and a large exciton binding energy (60 meV), which make it a promising candidate for applications in various areas such as transistors, UV light emitters, light emitting diodes, solar cells, and gas sensors [1].
