Characterization of an Optical Waveguide by Disturbing Its Evanescent Field with a Fiber Probe

Since the output of a waveguide is reduced by disturbing the evanescent field at its core-cladding interface with a fiber probe. So, its propagation characteristics could be estimated by scanning the probe along the waveguide.
