An analysis of the nursing workload and the work importance at the social welfare centers in Korea

The purpose of this study was 1) to analyze the nursing workload, 2) to analyze the core nursing work and delegate nursing work, and 3) to analyze the importance of nursing work at the social welfare center in Korea. The major results of this study were as follows; 1) Among the daily-performed nursing workings, the mean frequency of nursing assessment was 7.65; health counseling 6.62; care service 15.93 and administrative work 2.35. So the most frequently performed daily nursing work was care service. 2) Among the weekly-performed nursing workings, the mean frequency of community-cooperation was 1.96; public health education 1.48; health promotion 2.44; community resource development 1.18 and staff and volunteer education 2.17. So the most frequently performed weekly nursing work was health promotion. 3) Among the monthly-performed nursing workings, the mean frequency of PR of work was 3.33; community health 1.78 and research 1.40. So the most frequently performed monthly nursing work was PR of work.
