Facile Synthesis of Monodisperse Core-Shell and Hollow Nanoparticles Based on a Charged Polymer Nanosphere or Magnetite Nanoparticle Template

초록

A series of core-shell and hollow nanoparticles were prepared using various templates such as monodisperse polymer nanospheres and nanosized iron oxide particles. The nanoparticles of polymer core/silica or titania shell were prepared by sol-gel processing based on monodisperse, cationic polymer nanosphere templates, synthesized by emulsifier-free emulsion polymerization. These polymer nanospheres were subsequently treated with titania or silica inorganic precursors to form various organic core-inorganic shell hybrid nanoparticles. By the addition of a cationic surfactant in the reaction mixture, we obtained a mesoporosity in the silica shell phase. The magnetite core/titania shell nanoparticles were synthesized by layer-by-layer (LbL) self assembly method. The hollow titania or silica nanospheres were prepared by either calcination of the polymer cores at 500℃ or etching the magnetite in HCl.
