Shewanella sp. BR-2 as a model to study EPA production by PKS-like module

초록

Shewanella is the organism which is pretty straightforward for genetical manipulation. Most of the tools used in Esherichia coli, which can also be used in Shewanella. Shewanella sp. BR-2 has emerged as a good model to study EPA production by PKS-like module. Therefore, established electroporation condition to introduce the plasmid into Shewanella sp. BR-2 and investigated plasmid which is maintained as a free replicon outside of chromosom and Shewanella sp. BR-2 have own antibiotic resistance. And then, we constructed the recombinant plasmid harboring substrate genes involved in fatty acid biosynthesis and attempted to introduce them into Shewanella sp. BR-2.
