Combined costoclavicular and cervical plexus block for shoulder and clavicle surgery: three case reports
초록
Background: Although several diaphragm-sparing nerve block was evaluated, they mostly focused on shoulder analgesia. This case report describes the successful use of ultrasound-guided costoclavicular block (CCB) with cervical plexus block (CPB) for three different types of shoulder and clavicle surgery in patients with risk factors for interscalene block or general anesthesia. Case: We present three cases of patients with risk factors for interscalene block or general anesthesia scheduled for shoulder or clavicle surgery who received combined CCB and CB. Ultrasound-guided combined CPB and CCB block was performed as the sole anesthetic for shoulder and clavicle surgery. The block provided effective anesthesia and postoperative analgesia without the risk of phrenic nerve palsy. Conclusions: Combined CPB and CCB can be a good alternative for shoulder and clavicle surgery in high-risk patients. Further clinical studies are required to confirm the efficacy and safety of this technique.
